Because Elevation, the northern district of Architect Island, is the first district to launch with pre-built properties, we thought it fitting to highlight some of the architects in our Voxels community, particularly those whose work dominates Elevation.

wackozacco is one of the most inspired builders of Voxels, with designs that reference a range of architectural styles. And while he typically works on commissioned pieces in our world, Elevation was an opportunity for him to build to his own taste and sense of aesthetics.

As he told us:

“Most of my previous builds have all been client focused, so getting to explore my own design focus has been a great opportunity to hone in more on my personal tastes and build structures, based primarily off my own inspirations and aesthetic choices.”

Each of wackozacco’s builds on Architect Island comes with an exclusive color-matching set of furniture, including tables, chairs, rugs, turntables, and even hookahs. He also plans to send exclusive wearables to collectors.

This building was inspired by the iconic Centre Pompidou in Paris, and incorporates a walkway around the entire exterior, utilizing the ducting and scaffolding:

Why Build On Architect Island? And Why Voxels?

wackozacco enjoyed the city-planning aspect of building on Architect Island. Given the number of builds that Voxels asked him to develop, the builder enjoyed the challenge of planning “building types, heights, etc. in a way that would create a pleasing and cohesive experience to explore our section.”

wackozacco also talked about the features and functionalities of building in Voxels, which, we like to think, is the easiest and most intuitive metaverse to build in.

“I found the building tools used in Voxels more approachable for a beginner. I started playing around here about a year ago, and I have slowly been increasing my skill levels to incorporate more elements into my builds. I think these different tiers of approachability really set Voxels apart from others.”

These 2 buildings, inspired by the Neo-Andean architectural movement in Bolivia, reference designs from Freddy Mamani in much more subdued colors:

The Voxels Community

The builder is also impressed by the Voxels community and the experience of working with the Voxels team on Architect Island. While building so many buildings for Elevation has helped him improve his skills and his approach to building in Voxels, he has found himself to be “continuously impressed by the eagerness of the community to collaborate.”

To illustrate his skill development and spirit of stylistic exploration, wackozacco developed a classical style structure as a gesture to the longlasting ingenuity of timber-frame housing:

Among the things we try to foster here at Voxels is creativity and a strong sense of community. We’re delighted to have had three outstanding builders work on the northern district of Architect Island for the first turnkey area on our map.

We hope all of our community will enjoy exploring Elevation.
