Return to Green is an Ecology and Arts-oriented event focused on bringing visual artists, musicians, and Regenerative Finance (ReFi) together. The weeklong event will feature an art gallery, live music, a panel of speakers, and an art auction where all funds raised will go towards Grandmother Grove, a Charged Particles Ecology Guild project that uses interest-bearing assets to direct interest annuities towards planting trees (via the Eden Project).

In the words of Eden Project co-founder Sir Tim Smit:

“Eden is now a movement — one where all our projects are linked and our activities legible as coherent value-driven actions that effect our geographies worldwide… Eden is about agency and doing things.”

ReFi: A New Initiative To Fight Climate Change

Just as DeFi opens up enormous possibilities for a permissionless, open financial system available to everyone, regenerative finance is a new way of thinking about money and investing. Rather than simply trying to make a profit, those involved in regenerative finance are seeking to create lasting value for all stakeholders.

This includes protecting the environment, supporting social justice, and promoting economic development. Regenerative finance is based on the principle that we all have a stake in the health of our planet and its people. By investing in projects that benefit the environment and society, we can create a more sustainable future for everyone.

It may be a while before blockchain technology can wash the dishes for you, but it does have an enormous amount of positive social and environmental use cases. By bringing the arts and the environment together through NFTs on the metaverse, Charged Particles is demonstrating how important cryptocurrencies, DeFi, the metaverse, and NFTs could be for our planet.

Charged Particles

Charged Particles is an NFT platform that has some highly advanced characteristics. It allows minters to create ‘nested’ NFTs, which are NFTs that act a little bit like a crypto wallet. Crypto tokens and other NFTs can all be put inside a nested NFT, making that NFT more valuable.

The funds from the art auction at Return To Green will be nested inside an NFT, and the interest those funds earn will be donated to Grandmother Grove/The Eden Project.

The festivities will begin on the 23rd of July at 7pm NZST and run all the way through the 31st of July. The multi-location event will be held on three parcels:

The Boiler Room: https://www.voxels.com/play?coords=S@2958W,3939N,0.5U

The Gallery: https://www.voxels.com/play?coords=SW@340W,670S,28F

We love our planet and we try to do our bit to protect the environment and limit our carbon footprints as much as we can. That’s why we recently had an environment/climate themed game on Chronos Island.

We’re super proud to be hosting this event, and we’re sure it’ll be a major success.
