We can all agree that Chronos Island is gorgeous.

There’s something special about seeing the colors of all the seasons in one place. It’s like a reminder that time keeps moving forward, no matter what.

The leaves might be falling and the skies might be gray, but there’s still color to be found.

In the depths of winter, when the world is blanketed in white, a single brightly-colored flower can seem like a ray of sunshine.

And in the height of summer, when the greens are so bright they hurt your eyes, a few red and orange leaves can add some much-needed contrast. No matter what time of year it is, there’s always something beautiful to see.

Chronos Island is a genuine celebration of our planet, the seasons it blesses us with, the time that passes as we live our lives, and a reflection of the climate change crisis we must face up to the challenge of resolving immediately.

And all that aesthetic vision had to come from somewhere.

Mona Peters… A Veteran Of Design, Narrative, World Building, 3D Modeling, VR

Here at Voxels, we’re lucky to have so many amazing and creative people writing code, developing lore, community members building on their parcels, making wearables… and those on the team that develop the themes behind our islands.

Mona Peters, the rarely skilled designer behind Chronos Island, has an extensive background in visual design. She is credited as a special effects artist or supervisor/coordinator on a number of films and television shows, including Avatar: The Way of Water (currently in post-production), Rampage, Ghost in the Shell, Spectral, and Thunderbirds Are Go.

She’s kinda like the rock star of the Voxels team!

And her work with Weta Workshop goes beyond film and television. She was the Supervisor for the BUG LAB / TE PAPA exhibition, overseeing the installation of large-scale insect enclosures.

For the Weta Unleashed exhibition, Everclan Miniature, Mona was the art director and supervisor for the team that designed and built a 100 sqm fantasy miniature world.

And some of her stage design work for a range of clients is off the charts!

Mona is fluent in Rhino, Adobe Suite Software, Gravity Sketch, TwinMotion, ZBrush, as well as 3D printing programs.

We’re lucky to have her. And we wanted our community to know that the inspiration behind Chronos Island is some serious talent.
