Dear CV Community,
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We are devastated that our community has been taken advantage of within our own Discord. We wanted to let you know that we are now in full control of our Discord server.
Please see our most recent tweet thread here containing the information on what happened: https://twitter.com/cryptovoxels/status/1508539757063663616
The following steps were taken to address the incident:
- We immediately stripped all permissions from all admins except Ben, Fayelure, and Bitpixi.
- We conducted a full audit and will work with the Discord Trust and Safety Team.
- We have assessed the wallets who were compromised, and are already in the process of contacting those affected.
We would like to reiterate that this is an isolated incident via one of our mods’ account. The hacker then modified the Discord server by adding a fake CollabLand bot. Those following us closely know that we have never used the CollabLand bot on our Discord server. Our website, smart contract, and company’s treasury are all safe and secure.
This incident is a reminder that scams and hacks are unfortunately very common in the Crypto and Web 3.0 community. Hackers and scammers are targeting projects via Discord consistently. Please protect yourself, do not share your personal information and seed words. If something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. With this incident, we will be stepping up our Discord security with frequent audits.
We are grateful for our amazing community. Special thanks goes to these community members Digga (@Sashlander on twitter), Germs (@youth__camp on twitter), Nissla (Ness Nissla) who helped fellow CV owners recover their parcels.
We appreciate your support during this challenging time. If you have any questions in this matter, please direct it to support@voxels.com.
