Or perhaps you’re the type of Voxelian that would prefer to buy houses already built, in an established neighborhood, designed by some true OG builders and designers.
For the latter, Architect Island is for you!
Architect By Name, Architect By Nature
Architect Island wasn’t named by accident. Lined with streets named after significant people, places, and styles in the history of art, design, and architecture (Romanesque Road, Postmodern Avenue, Michelangelo Path, for example); bespeckled by waterways; and developed by Voxel OG builders and designers, Architect Island is the Voxel world’s first island to be complete and ready to move in to.
The new island is, in fact, the first collaborative effort between Voxels and its vibrant community of builders.
The community in our Ethereum-based virtual world is always looking for ways to innovate and create. So we had the idea of creating turnkey parcels, complete with a house and interior packages ready for immediate occupancy.
Over the past few months we’ve had some OG Voxel builders and designers working on Architect Island. (And being just northeast of Milan, you may have seen it under construction.)
One Island, Many Designs
And just like the Voxels metaverse as a whole, Architect Island is far from homogenous. (In case anyone was worried we were overseeing construction of a McMansion island!)
The cityscape of the northern part of the island — Elevation — is dominated by Megavox homes built by Ottis, Fabio, and Wackozacco.
Budding architect lilPaats had his hand in a number of designs, and each quadrant of the island was developed by 3–4 builders.
As lilPaats, who proposed the idea of Architect Island to us, said:
“Voxels is the most builder- and architect-friendly metaverse. Good architecture is necessary to create the best user experience. I’m hoping that [as a result of Architect Island] more artists and architects are encouraged to dive into metaverse opportunities.”
Interior designer 4everkurious has all properties adorned with modern voxel block furniture, which owners may choose to add to or replace. Voxels has always been a versatile metaverse, allowing players to create whatever they can imagine. There are no limits but your imagination. So while Architect Island presents something entirely novel in the world — parcels with houses already built — owners are fully entitled to customize their homes’ interiors and add things to any open land remaining on the parcels.
These properties are likely to be hot and go for a premium over empty land parcels. A lot of work has been done by our community creators and builders to create a ready-made island — the first of its kind in Voxels. Take yourself on a tour of the island, eye off something you like, and grab it during the sale.
